Is that a general question or did you have specific expectations?
Just that, for the longest time, they weren't; but there have been a number of updates since I used Sooloos. With both MQA and USB MQA decoders a reality, I was wondering if the situation had changed.

Control:Mac cannot play RBCD 44/16 (let alone MQA and other Hi-Res) tracks to local output without stuttering. Last time I asked M support about this, there weren't any immediate plans to fix this.

I just confirmed the latest build 2.527 (build 463) still suffers from this problem.

I've just updated to Sooloos 2.527. Control:PC stopped working as did the iPad Sooloos app.

I've deleted the iPad Sooloos app and reinstalled it. However when it opens the 'Zones' drop-down box is showing and cannot be closed. No other functions in the app are usable.

I've uninstalled Control:PC and downloaded what I presume is the latest version. However, all I get is the Control:PC window with 'Connecting…' showing at the bottom.

Meridian Sooloos Configuration - v31 shows Control:PC but not my MS600 or MD600.

Is anyone able to help? As is probably obvious, my knowledge on the subject is fairly limited, so step-by-step instructions will be much appreciated.

Have you done a full cold reboot of the MD600?

Power off using the front button (light goes from white to blue).

Switch off the power at the back (light goes from blue to nothing).

Power on at the back (light on the front goes blue, various white lights on the front flash on and off).

When everything is table (all flasing lights off), switch on at the front (light goes from blue to white).

Are you connecting your Control:PC device wired or wirelessly - it (generally) needs to be wired for the first contact.

Thanks Gianni. Just done a cold reboot of my MD600 per your instructions. Unfortunately, no change. Control:PC is wired.

Jeremy

PS. When I open Sooloos Configure I get the notification - "an update to the Meridian Sooloos configure tool is available. After the update is downloaded, the software will install and automatically start the new version." However, when I do this, nothing changes.

The Sooloos Configure is not the software which you are trying to update to get 2.527 (if I have understood your response correctly).

Open a browser and go to the IP address of your MD600. That should load a kind of lite version of Control:PC.

Is the Messages tab (centre) there and is it flashing?

If it is click on it and you should see a page with a message called Update Available. Click on that. You should see an Update button, click on that.

Sit back and let it do its magic. Then recycle power per my above rubric.

Thanks again Gianni. I regret that I was not clear in my initial posting. I did originally try to update to 2.527 by clicking on the Messages tab in Control:PC and then clicking on the Update button. I later added my comment about Sooloos Configure to see if that would help shed any further light on the problem.

Anyway, I have just gone through the procedure you recommended using the Lite version of Control:PC followed by a cold reboot of my MD600, but no luck so far.

Jeremy

PS. I did a backup of my computer a few days ago to an external hard drive. Is it worth importing the backed up Meridian folder to replace what is on my computer now in Program Files(x86)?

Hi Gianni
My MD600s don't quite work as you describe at the "Power on at the back" stage.
Blue light comes on and the discs spin up momentarily. Blue light is then extinguished

I then press the front panel switch to start the MD600 and then everything happens as you describe, Blue light on finally changing to white when start cycle and checks are completed.

Had a really nice chat with Jeremy, his system is all updated and working, Control:PC is now ok and he can play music, the only issue is the iPad Core control app, the iPad is running the latest IOS 10.3.1 and the Core Control iPad app has been deleted and reinstalled however on startup the zone box opens and the app locks? Anyone else seeing this?

Cheers

@Hector, you are of course correct - thanks for correcting me

@Ratbert, what was the root cause?

Hi Gianni

Not certain, reboot of everything including router, disabling of pc firewall, power up of one unit at a time, deletion and reinstallation of Control:PC, just the iPad broken and the inability of Sooloos configure to see anything but Control:PC despite updating it to the latest version v31.
