My heartfelt thanks to Russ for his very considerable assistance over the phone. He patiently spent what was probably more than an hour helping me to solve the problem. As he says, it is not absolutely certain what that problem was, but I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to sort things out by myself.

Control:PC works just fine now. The i-Pad Sooloos app is not functioning, despite deleting it and downloading again more than once. I have also rebooted the iPad more than once. The zone box opens on starting the Sooloos app. The zone box cannot be closed and everything else is locked up. I have the latest software on my iPad. Maybe there is a conflict between the Sooloos 2.527 update and the current iPad software?

Has anyone else experienced this? If I can't sort things out fairly soon I'll give a call to Meridian.

Jeremy

On your iPad, are you able to open Control:web with Safari? Maybe your wifi isn't on the same part of your network as your Sooloos gear..?

Hi Arlen

Thanks for your thoughts. The main point is that everything was working just fine before I updated to Sooloos 2.527. The problems started after that.

Frankly, I am not sure what Control:Web is. I have only ever used the Sooloos app on my iPad. I have just searched for 'Meridian Control:web' on Safari and then opened the 27 page document which explains about Control:web. I will look through this, but I'm not really sure why I might need it if the system was working satisfactorily before with the downloaded Sooloos app.

Anyway, as luck would have it, things have just corrected themselves. Previously when I was seeing the 'Zones' drop-down box on my iPad there was nothing in it, I couldn't close it, and everything else was locked. Just now I've tried again and this time 'Shop's MS600' appeared within the Zones box. Clicking on this allowed the box to be closed and everything works OK.

Overall, I really am not sure what caused the problems, but I much appreciate the help of folks here - particularly Russ - to get things working again.

Cheers

Jeremy

Hi Jeremy

You were most welcome and I am glad 'everything' is now working, strange that the iPad was failing and now works, monitor things for a few days just to be sure. The Control:Web referred to is the same as we did to connect to the core on the pc before we downloaded Control:PC but on the iPad e.g. Browser with the core IP address.

Cheers

Russ

Hi Xanavi

That was exactly what Jeremy had, try the following:

Turn off all Sooloos kit

Reboot any switches and the broadband router

Remove Control:PC

Reboot pc

Power up MC200 wait until fully booted

Power up pc, disable any firewall and virus checking programs

Identify IP address of MC200 using a network scanner e.g. Fing on the iPad

On the pc browse to the core IP address

If successful then select settings and download Control:PC

Control:PC should run, post back the results.

I had zero issues. Is this something that mainly those running Meridian cores are having problems with?

Hi Bruce

No idea, the two people I have tried to help seem to have the identical problem and in their cases they were Sooloos cores running on Meridian hardware MC200 and MD600 as opposed to QNAP.

Hi Andy

I think your experience is what most people have seen, but unfortunately not everyone.
