Anyway I found a used pair of HE1000 V1 for close to the price of new HE X V2. So I bought those. And I think I might be able to upgrade them to V2's. I managed to get my HEK V1 upgraded to HEK V2. Only took 6 days and they are brand new. So I ended up with new HEK V2 for $2K, which would normally be $3K. Don't think they sound any better than V1 (impossible to know without side by side A/B) but the fit, finish, cables and reduced weight was worth it. And I hated the V1 cables (too stiff).
