I try not to go to HiFi Lounge any more. Dangerous place! I hear they are having an open day in April when they should have the Naim Statements on demo. May have to drop by...
Stax in UK are cheaper to buy than in NL I noticed. For the SR L700 I am looking for I would pay 1600 euro, in UK 1195 pounds or ~1395 euro. Both list prices.

I would skip Sennheiser. The HD 800S is great (but to analytical for my taste) but not a good pairing for the Prime. Only select headphone with 100Ohm impedance or less.
I use the Prime plus PSU with the Elear. The Best Value for Money Headphone I've heard so far - amazing!!! (The LCD-X is still a small bit better but 1000,- EUR more..)
Well, todays experiences are a little disapointing and if not resolvable, a Prime PSU deal breaker.
Quite simply, my Prime PSU hums, unacceptably - i can hear it hum even with closed back headphones on. Ive tried other sockets, its the same. It hums when on and in standby, the only time it doesnt hum is when I turn it off at the mains socket.
So, questions to Prime PSU owners - does your PSU hum and do you have solar PV? Ive heard that solar PV can cause some power supplies to hum - ive got some low voltage lighting with proper PSU's and they are totally quiet.
So one for Meridian support next week.
The other issues are iPhone related. Seems that the USB output Prime PSU does not supply enough power to power iPhone and Prime or my original Explorer for that matter when using the USB 3 camera connection kit with additional lightning power connector. Shame as it would have been a nice simple solution for powering iPhone without the need of an extra socket. It does appear to charge iPhone, but not when Prime/Explorer also connected - iPhone gives message about device drawing too much power.
And not sure if related to other. Not been able to confirm that Prime works with iPhone camera kit. Didnt have energy to move everything closer to a power socket so i could use the Apple power supply instead of Prime. However when using Prime PSU to power iPhone via the USB camera adaptor, the sample rate light on Prime kept flashing on and off. this was first thing i tried and did work when iPhone was powered direct from a seperate apple psu and not when powered solely via Prime PSU.
I did get the blue light on Tidal OSX app but using old noise cancelling headphones so not very revealing quality.

Meridian owner since 1992 Prime & PSU, Focal Elear headphones, Roon (ROCK 8Gi5 NUC), Explorer 1 & 2, F80. 200/203, various Sonos (via Roon).
The PSU and Prime are dead quiet. No hummmmm or else.
The USB thing has nothing do to with the PSU. The PSU takes the USB from your source and splits power from sound and send a new clean power and sound to the prime.
So the thing is that your iPhone has to supply (and of course accept the connection...)
You can rule out Solar PV by testing at night and/or disconnect it. I'm sure you have a similar safety switch that will completely isolate solar as in the states. I doubt it's solar. Could just be a defective Prime Power and I'd try exchanging it.

If you think listening to music is fun, try learning an instrument. HT: G61RSL, 4x5K, 5.5KHC, 2xSC6000, Transporter, HD621, Philips BDP7501 4K, Tivo, 65" LG OLED 4K C6 Computer: Foobar2000, 5K, Mojo, HiFiMan HE1000 V2
Two things. First, I have read that there is an Apple firmware update for their (new) auxiliary power version of the camera connector. Without the update the old power shortage messages continue.
Second, is the hum you are experiencing mechanical or is it via the earphones themselves? I deduce from your description that it is mechanical. You shouldn't need to do this, but check the tightness of the toroidal transformer fixing screw(s). Sometimes, a little tightening solves the problem. Failing that, you would need a new toroidal transformer - as a species they are somewhat prone to mechanical hum unless carefully checked following manufacture. I have two DSP33s and, despite prudent tightening, one hums mechanically a little bit.
