Hi Lee
Glad to hear things are improving........[and that your current ward location will quickly pass and that she will "mend" very quickly]

Can I ask, which of the buds were supplied fitted on the Shures??

Also, I find the easiest way to put the buds on and off the central column is to hold the Driver firmly........while turing the Bud in a Clockwise motion to put them on........and anti-clockwise to turn them on

They are designed to be tight fitting......but that little motion gets them moving in the right direction

And I totally agree with you......getting the buds properly seated in the ear canals makes ALL the difference for BOTH sound quality and long term comfort IMHO

Enjoy

Fiddler,
I just picked up Audeze iSine20 in ear headphones and they are by far the best I have ever tried, works like a charm with the Explorer2 and if you have a an iPhone 7it works with the Lightning contact and sounds fantastic on the go despite not accessing MQA.

Appreciate the words Ronnie, we have been in here 4 weeks now as she had a nasty pneumonia which at one point looked very touch and go, but I'm glad to say we are out of the woods and making steady progress.

The fitted tips were the medium olive style, just a little shallow fitting for my liking. They were a bugger to get off, other sites were talking of placing in the freezer (quoting official guidance form the Shure support pages no less!). I'm glad to say I didn't resort to such measures and a little side to side rocking with a fingernail under the lip managed to extract them safely. But once again thanks for the tip, I'll try that next time.

Hi Lee,

Sounds like you and your family have had a really tough time. I'm delighted to hear things are getting better though.

All the best,

I managed to get my HEK V1 upgraded to HEK V2. Only took 6 days and they are brand new. So I ended up with new HEK V2 for $2K, which would normally be $3K.

Don't think they sound any better than V1 (impossible to know without side by side A/B) but the fit, finish, cables and reduced weight was worth it. And I hated the V1 cables (too stiff).

Hi George
Please wait for the In Ear version, they are expected to out perform the old Babel Fish
model. Definitely no requirement for room treatment or correction.
