No offence my friend but whole thread is annoying. I agree, but please don't make assumptions, and engage with respect for the long term advantages of this forum. Hector

ZLodei, Annoyed! You join this respected forum and ask for advice from veritable members and then denigrate the revered products that many users own in an unacceptable unsubstantiated cavalier manner. Shameful Hector JMPOV OVMD Why can't he have a negative opinion? Being shamed for having shared an opinion is what's shameful.

Regards Explorer 2 being 'Crap' beacause it failed. Send it back or get a refund. They are under warranty you know. I had a friends one fail on me and Meridian exchanged it without question even though my Friend was the second owner. It arrived the next day..... I'd call that excellent customer service. Things do fail in all walks of life. Electronics usually fail early in my experience.
My Explorer 2 is brilliant for me, thank you. Chris

Moderator comment.
Let's try to focus on the discussion here rather than commenting on those posting. Negative opinions are quite valid provided they in context. Of course continued ranting / banging the drum is not acceptable and should be brought to the attention of the site's admin.
Sometimes posts can be little blunt ... try not to get inflamed with the posting style ... it's far more constructive to engage with them to explore why they believe A is better than B or vis verser.

A little pricy for mobile use but can imagine fantastic, i would never get these past the misses - physically yes, credit card statement no.
Anyway i picked up a pair of the SE425's yesterday, Shures do seem well liked here. In hospital with my daughter at the moment so missing the main system and really needed to beef up the bundled buds i had with me.
Very impressed so far in partnership with the Explorer2, listened to the Division Bell on MQA last night and have to say got that goose bump feeling (not that i want to start another debate on that topic btw - but it is what it is and more so given the location). Transparency and range very impressive.
The fitting of the Shures takes some getting used to however, a little awkward and getting the pads off is really difficult. But first impressions are positive.
thanks again for the suggestions.

Very pricy for me but I got an insurance payout when my SE425's before them got nicked, which helped. Oh and a divorce which meant the credit card was justified to myself (although not recommended just to buy headphones...)
