I think it can help to understand the MQA Decoding / Unfolding Stages as below... and then to try and put the various Meridian bits of kit into their respective "box" of capability ![[Linked Image]](https://www.meridianunplugged.com/ubbthreads/gallery/16/full/2303.jpg)

Thanks Ronnie. Did you make those folding slides? Very nice, clear and fun!
I wonder where DSP SE speakers fit? They are often described as "renderers", as per your third slide. In that case given core decoded input they could do all the rest, maybe even including DAC compensation, except for authentication.
I am guessing authentication in this context means verified as genuine by the original artist and/or producer? That would have implications.

Could you make a list of the Meridian products that are MQA core, MQA full decoder and MQA renderer? It will help to people like me that are not too knowledgeable pertaining streaming. Thanks

It is my understanding —confirmed by the User Guide— that the 818v3 does MQA decoding and rendering on its analogue outputs. Soundserge

I've adjusted the graphic above to put the various Meridian Products in the various MQA Categories Please feel free to suggest any changes or additions, as the above is really just a 1st draft ![[Linked Image]](https://www.meridianunplugged.com/ubbthreads/gallery/16/full/2305.jpg)

Great work Ronnie. Will this go in the wiki for future reference? I can see me trawling search for this down the line.

MQA decoding / decoding + rendering is available on all 808v6/818v3 digital inputs (ID41, USB, optical, coax, SpeakerLink). I have not tested optical or SpeakerLink.
Basically, the digital input card *is* the MQA card. All inputs are decoded. Audio from the ID41 is transferred to the digital input card for decoding.

Ronnie,
Where does the combination 218 to non SE speakers via SL go?
My understanding was that the 218 would let me render the best possible MQA up to 24/96 in my non SE DSP8000.2?
I am still confused how that should be set up through/parallel with my existing 861v8 and my Sooloos system...
