Bizarrely, it was ONLY because of MQA that I ever shopped with HRA. Looks like I am not alone there. Guess what...
Firstly thanks Andy for sharing that response with us. It's not a very technical nor detailed response. Even a novice can point out that the whole point of MQA is to move past the limitations of FLAC, so why would anyone after more buy less?
And YES I too only bought from HRA because of MQA. There's a recording of Wagner's Walküre that is not on Tidal and sold there. Loved that I bought it sounds amazing.
So isn't that a model HRA can continue to pursue? Basically selling MQA files of independent labels that don't stick with Tidal or other streaming services. But for the majors the writing is on the wall, once encoded in MQA they can set up their on streaming service easily and cut out the middle man. HRA and others will be a thing of the past.
As Bertrand Russell put it: "The whole problem of the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."
March 1st and it appears HRA still sells MQA downloads. Now I can't decide whether I should give them more business...
There were none on the site over week ago. Not sure where you are seeing them.

From here in Germany there are still 503 MQA albums for sale on the site.
Advanced Search Format: MQA (it's the last one in the pull-down)
Lists them all.
The reason I e-mailed them last was the MQA format had been removed from the drop down list. As you note it has been added back at least for now.
