I am indeed still working on it and things are inching towards a date (probably late September or some time in October) when it may be held. The current status is that I have drafted an agenda and I am just making sure that it will be fit for purpose by checking it with one or two potential participants. There is a group of about 33 people who would like to come (subject, of course, to other commitments) and I communicate with them via an email group outside this forum.

All is now arranged for a Hikers' gathering in Huntingdon on 12 October 2017. There will be 23 of us participating and we have a private email group of those who expressed interest via the forum, through which all the arrangements have been made. It has been suggested that I should make a last call through the forum just in case there are newcomers who missed out on the initial communications or others who, now the date is fixed, find they are after all able to make it.

So, if you can make it, please PM me and we will try and fit you in. It is a full day, it is at The Old Bridge Hotel in Huntingdon and the only cost involved (apart from your own travel) would be drinks beyond water, tea and coffee and, possibly, (depending on numbers) a contribution to cover your lunch costs.

Because of dining arrangements it would be hard to accommodate more than 5 more people so I will note the order in which people respond. However, so as not to be too exclusive, please let me know (PM) if you can definitely make it that day.

Let me be the first to thank and congratulate Nick for arranging what was a very fun HitchHikers meet. Not been on the forums as long as some of our fellow members but was great to put names to faces smile

I too would like to thank Nick for his fantastic organisation and management of the day, Rick for his support and insight, and Meridian for attending in such a positive fashion. It was great to meet and talk with so many fellow HH too!

I’d like to add my thanks to Nick and all who put this together. Nothing happens by accident and it’s a lot of work and planning.

Thanks must go to Rick for a beautiful lunch and quality input in discussions. It was brilliant to spend some time with him.

Tom’s 5200SE’s. Sounded amazing as did the 1980 vintage M20’s from Tape.
A very interesting comparison on how things have and haven’t changed.

Meridian’s attendance in the shape of John Buchanan and Rayner Sheridan is also much appreciated, it is always great to hear from these people. No, they didn’t reveal any secrets lol.

Thanks also to everyone who attended, the room was buzzing with conversation throughout.

I would recommend attendance at these events if they happen again in the future as it is great to meet everyone and put names to the faces.

Chris

I would also like to add my thanks to Nick for organising such a good event. It was great to have the chance to speak with John Buchanan and Rayner Sheridan in such an unhurried manner, much appreciated that Meridian devoted as much time to the event as they did.

Thanks

John
