My Bosch Tassimo T85 is still going strong after 5 years usage. Of all their pods, those by Carte Noir are the most preferable.

Even, so even the 'best' Tassimo coffee pod can't remotely compare to the taste of freshly brewed coffee beans.

Nespresso is about the only 'automatic' coffee system I can tolerate, having lived in Italy and worked as a barista years ago. If you do go for one of these, the Pixie machines are well thought out and very reliable, the ones made by Magimix, at least.

Absolutely. Beethoven couldn't compose without it. He counted a precise number of beans to make his each morning. Wrong number of beans: no music!

Nespresso Citiz + Milk is great here (Magimix).

Milk unit magnetic frothing rotation failed after approximately 1 year. Unit replaced FOC and they collected the old unit also FOC.

Great company and product.

To get the best, warm the cups before use.

Great variety but waiting for a blend with "Fig Seasoning" just like the old Bramah product.

Another +1 for Nespresso. I think they are the DSP5k of the coffee world; cheap and delicious.

My Nespresso Magimix M100 is still going strong since 2008. One milk frother replaced (don't submerge it in the washing up bowl) and surprisingly responsive support line when I couldn't get the milk hot enough.

The Nespresso Magimix Citiz my wife bought me a couple of Christmases ago is one of the best presents ever.

The convenience to enjoyment factor are just about right for me.
Not the real thing, but it's a good enough approximation for me as an espresso junkie. And since the Nespresso monopoly was broken for the pods (who says the EU doesn't do anything for us) I am really enjoying some of the offerings in Waitrose, especially Carte Noire.

Or, if you ever do a booze run, stock up at the French supermarkets with pods.

I think the DSP5000 analogy isn't far off.

You have all bought the wrong machine (For drip coffee)

The combined grinder and coffee maker below is a beast, I have had it for close to three years now and we make 2 rounds of coffee a day at least. I bought it for my wife and she's still making comments about how great it is.

I managed to get through 3 Breville kettles in 18 months, with the matching toaster lasting just as long. I won't be buying Breville ever again.

I spent the extra money required to buy the much better quality Dualit kettle - and toaster. Crossed fingers, they're still both working well after 2 years usage.

We had a rather expensive Dualit kettle also. Just outside of the warranty period the base plate element blew. Bang!!
I was surprised that it was not repairable and I didn't get anything from Dualit.
Love their toasters as everything is repairable.
