Given appropriate input, the 568(.1) will output up to 96/24 across all channels. What it can't do is upsample to rear channels. For that you need the .2 variants.

I did consider that option for a while but now that I have started to reconfigure in my mind the system I want.
I will acquire three more 5K's and call it a day. It is very appealing visually and sonically to be surrounded by matched outputs. If that makes any $ense.

I see you are well down the road with your plans, might I suggest that the later inclusion of perhaps 2 x SW1600 subs (if you have space) will certainly add to your AV experience.
This really worked for me. I was also given a D2500 which I ran daisy chained at the rear.
All visitors were blown away by the performance delivered by Meridian Legacy products.

Calling it a day is always easier said than done. In the back of my mind I will more than likely be on the look out for a pair of DSP subs to replace my pair of Rythmik E15 subs for video use.
It would be much appreciated if someone could chime in with information on the appropriate cable and interfaces (diagrams even better) needed to connect the following 1. 568 2. Three 5K across the fron with center serving as Master 3. Pair of 5K in the rear
Not sure if it makes any difference that the 568 will be placed along a sidewall.
There is an excellent example in the 568 user guide. Although it doesn't show the rear speakers connected, you get the gist of it.
