I guess this is a form of teasing. It just irritates. <facepalm>

Cedia is over now, are there now officially infos, specs data applicaton available?

There are only announcements for a new product -the 218- but not more, either on:

Is there a officially statement when the customer can get information about the products what they maybe will buy?

When is a product launch not a product launch?

My expection for a new product is that I get infos and detail description for what the product can be used.

Spec sheets are being finalized now and will be available next week. It is essentially an AC200 with a MQA Sooloos endpoint in a rackmount box with no volume knob. At $1000.00 it is alot of box for the money and offers many features that have been asked for on here all in one box.

Would that it were so. It doesn't quite have enough inputs for that. Probably enough for a secondary zone (clearly its target), but AC200 is a primary zone controller.

I think a secondary zone is surely the intended target but the lack of an optical output makes connection to my F80 more convoluted.

If I decide to ignore MQA, a Bryston Pi may be a better option.

I said essentially as a matter of disclaimer that it was not exactly. What I meant by that is that like an AC200 it can be used as a central controller in a small system and integrates a number of inputs. To give some examples of how it can be used, here are some suggestions:


1. Six of these along with a Sooloos enabled QNAP give you the same functionality of the MC600 plus MQA for about $7000.00. The MC600 was $12000.00 MSRP.

2. It can be used like an MS200 endpoint and includes MQA. In this manner it can be used with analog or digital speakers.

3. Fixed to the back of a TV with a pair of DSP speakerlink speakers, or analog speakers with an amplifier, it can make a nice neat room system controllable via IR or IP.

4. 4 of these with the 258 provides a very capable multiroom system with Sooloos, MQA, other input switching all controlled via an iPad or other control system.

I am sure there are many other ways in which this little box will be used.

It also addresses many of the things people have been asking for:

1. An inexpensive MQA enabled endpoint.

2. An inexpensive way to integrate MQA into analog systems.

3. Custom installation applications

4. An inexpensive way to integrate other sources into a pair of speakerlink DSP speakers instead of trying to hack your way in.

All of this for a grand is a pretty good deal.

Do you know how many simultaneous outputs are available? Also can everything inputted make it to every output possibility e.g. Can an analogue in signal come out through SpeakerLink?
