Hi Ian

Your absolutely right, cold feel is very important.
I too have driven cars with semi-race brakes ... Ferodo DS Performance Pads etc. I still vividly recall having to drive with left foot braking lightly applied to "warm" up the rotors in order to get the car though the MOT test.

Carbon Ceramic brakes have moved on quite a long way from their first inception on road cars. From what I have read "cold" pedal feel is not dissimilar to that of steel now.

There are of course pros and cons: Cost being quite significant and feel still need to be considered. However, their durability compared to steel is a positive, better performance, handling, etc. and aesthetic factors: they look cool, don't corrode and don't foul up the wheels with brake dust.

The Silverstone day is at the Porsche centre on site but we are not on the main race track so there are opportunities to drive the car from cold on a variety of surfaces / conditions.

I like the idea of PCCB but I'm not sold on them yet ... as you say I need to get some non-track driving experience with them before making that call.

Regards,
Carl
