Glad Roon works for you. It screwed up all my data when I tried it. At that time the way it was set up was not how I wanted to look for my music and it was a pain compared to Sooloos to easily set-up a CD to play. I don't care one iota about what artist or back-up singer plays on a CD or some of the other data Roon presents. There are many out there who care a it is great for them.
The only benefit for me was better Tidal integration. As far as how Roon is better for massive CD collections, again not an issue for me. I cull my music off the servers a couple of times a year because I don't keep music I don't listen to on a regular basis. If it doesn't get played I delete it and get rid of the CD too. I have no place to store 10,000 CD's that sit on a server. I listen to music, not collect it.

That's an interesting viewpoint that I never consider as it seems so unnatural to me.
I listen to the music I like, I also like to collect the music I like. I also consider others who come around so I have music they will like too.
If my sister comes around she dives straight into her music and I can enjoy her enthusiasms as she tries to explain it to me. (The Smiths and such like). My brother likes heavy rock and the joy on his face as he discovers I have some obscure gem is priceless. My Niece is into Americana/Country and modern Folk so I have to keep up. Little Rabbit Barn bootleg discs help here. Then all the family like to explore late 60's early 70's music. We reminisce a lot here.
Tidal really makes everything available (except 'Be Bop and Holla' by Andy Fairweather Low) Anyone?
Not sure how I would cull this even if I wanted to (which I don't) and all of it is available very quickly with both Roon and Sooloos.
That's the beauty of it all, you can customise to your wishes. Also I can pick up loads of music discarded by others in Charity shops etc. for almost zero monies.
This looks like. Win/win situation to me. Chris
No 18 in the Hall of fame I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best: GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone
How can anything be easier than loading music to Sooloos?
Sure for one CD it is fine. Drag and drop etc. Double check that the result is as expected.
Now try and do 100 or 1000 or 10,000 CD. Just sharing to kind of answer the question even if it was likely rhetorical.
Even "Ouch" Chris Layer living in deepest Essex can't source a 100 CD's on a Sunday morning especially after a Saturday night at LRB.
Re abbreviated quote, that must have been some car boot sale full.
However seriously, I try to be selective in what I purchase and load to Sooloos.
I agree with Russ that Sooloos diagnostics are virtually non existent but the root problems I have encountered in the past have been with disc failures.
Older and wiser now and know where to look and how to address the problems.

'Wise old Hector' The issue is that the Sooloos diags are so lacking that even a simple disk failure can go unnoticed leaving the user at risk of total data loss, disk issues typically have to be diagnosed by using a disk caddy and third party diagnostic utilities.
