A new architecture or just different card ethos?

Looks like a great product. At twice the price of an 818v3 it looks like Meridian is going head to head with the dCS Rossini.
It would be great to know the spec of the network card - is it an ID42 capable of streaming DSD and DXD?
Does it upsample beyond 24/96?
Great stuff Meridian !
Streaming: Roon, NUC, QNAP869 NAS 2ch system: dCS Vivaldi, Audionet Stern, Audionet Heisenberg, Magico Q1 Retro system: 101/104/105, Red Rose Spirit

From Meridian web site... One network input (Ethernet) for connection to a Meridian Sooloos System All the other inputs have resolution and sampling specs...

According to the pic, it is still an ID41.

In a way this product make sense for the adoption of MQA for those that have high End analog setups. Hopefully this release will give Meridian the time to focus on the 861 and see to that those that have already converted from analog to digital will get the best support for MQA and MQA MCH both with RC. Much of the work gone into this product regarding MQA must be directly usable in a future upgrade of the 861. This will also make it much easier to make shot outs between Meridian and analog setups, from where we probably will get more members

I'm sure it will sound wonderful for redbook! One suspects totally new architecture. And no doubt a huge amount of work behind it. Bravo to M for that!
But LAN input is limited to 24/96. This is crazy IMO. I don't care what protocol they use but it makes no sense for Bob to say viz-a-viz MQA that we need to record at 352kHz or higher, then force us to downsample all that material if we want to play across the network. There is no logic to that. (One can only hope they are working on fixing this for the future.)
Sooloos and Meridian has made me realise that LAN playback is not only hugely convenient but technically superior. That makes the lack even more painful. In that respect the Ultra loses out to the dCS Rossini.
(PS Let's get one thing straight: it is NOT an 818v4. It has no digital outputs and so can't be used in a DSP system! Analogue systems only!)

Why would this product have SpeakerLink and MHR?
- Is it for having the 818 and 808 as sources?
- Connecting it to Meridian speakers?
- Connecting it to the 861 with some upgraded RC capable of handling MQA (sounds like overkill to have all that analoge stuff for that)?
