My understanding is that what was being described as Sooloos 3 became Roon after the parting of the ways of the original Sooloos developers and Meridian last year.
Updates on Sooloos since the split have been to release the TouchPC interface and the core for the QNAP along with maintenance updates, the Roon developments have been significantly greater in my opinion and they have some very interesting things in the pipeline.
I am just putting 2+2 together and probably making 5, we will see. You should try the free trial of Roon and see what you think?
As previously posted with regard to the Tidal / Sooloos / C15 bug, Meridian Support clearly verbally stated that the "fix" would be included in the next iteration of Sooloos SW.
"Desperately Seeking Sooloos".

I was rather hoping that Sooloos v3 would meet my needs. I do have a Mac Mini that I could put Roon on as it's dedicated for TV (and underutilized). However, we have fairly frequent power interruptions in our rural setting. We have a back up generator with automatic transfer switch and Sooloos is typically back up and running automatically. Since SWMBO is the heaviest user, this level of robustness is very desirable. I should probably invest in a UPS, then rebooting the Mac Mini would be less of an issue.
I seem to recall that there were special deals for Roon early on. Do they tend to have any discount specials?
Cheers, Ian

Roon just announced an update that's very considerably. I wonder if M has decided that it's just not worth competing? Roon works with M products and can use the MC/MD units as well.
Also, I wonder if M has revived the MC600, as its still listed on the site.

Yes, the new Roon 1.2 release is a major step forward, Internet Radio, a small form-factor iPhone app, stability improvements (used to crash on my iPad-haven't seen a crash since the upgrade)
Also they released portrait mode with iPad pro. Close to being happy again after my Control:10 went zombie mode (not Roon's fault).
