.. and VK, analogue to hearing.
There are further comments and topics on the Computer Audiophile forum, some paranoid and some just not getting it.
One complaint is the DRM-esque nature of MQA since MQA is currently a closed system. There are a few angles to this but at the end of the day my best analogy is - yes I can stand at the fire door and listen to the Rolling Stones playing (limited sound quality for free) or I buy a ticket and get the full experience (pay for better sound quality and experience).
The second complaint is that MQA is lossy not lossless at hi res bit rates and so inferior and that's where I think they don't get it. If they read Bob's comments slowly they might, in particular the idea of getting less loss (distortion, change, corruption) in the analogue sound from studio to listener and that the whole chain needs to be included not just the digital transmission system.

I thought it was a great response. What is now needed is some mainstream MQA content beyond the 150 or so Norwegian albums released in MQA to date.
Interesting statement that the Explorer 2 will go all the way to 24/384 - that was new information to me. Anyone tried it with DXD?

I think the down-sampling was referring to non-MQA 384k material. Now, whether or not that gets passed to the DAC natively, who knows?

Not that many comments on Computer Audiophile since Bob Stewart's comprehensive Q&A response. I guess Bob's grasp of audio technology is way beyond theirs, (light years beyond mine). Most of those who have posted acknowledge his understanding but are deafingly quiet about their conspiracy theories. One poster however grudgingly concluded: Yes it is a very complete and admirable piece of work. I guess we'll just have to wait till it becomes more available. Then measurements and listening tests can be done by the unbiased. Only then will we really know what's afoot in the game. Brings to mind that brilliant Monty Pythons "What did the Romans ever do for us" sketch.

Is it safe to take anti histamines with anti depressants? You crack me up Hector Maybe MQA should have a health warning. Have fun, Carl

It's a great read but sadly I suspect all Bob's hard work will be wasted on the conspiracy theorists... They are back in force. Explorer 2 and MQA reviews in the June issue have been posted at Stereophile's blog. The doubters don't seem at all interested in how MQA sounds. Sad, really.

So, no news from Warner or Tidal. The case for MQA still hangs in the balance.
