Meridian kit and especially the SE' are far more 'accurate' than just about all else, the ATC's included. No doubt many here would like to believe you but how do you know this is true? Have you conducted measurement tests? Have you read this somewhere else?

At the moment, this is what I want to believe. Confirmation bias

As an ATC user, I would say it is a matter of your preference. I have pretty much given up on "better" or "worse" for very high end speakers.
Interactions with the room can change the sound of "perfect" speakers so much it becomes the overriding factor.
I prefer the very sweet midrange of the ATCs over the drier Meridian presentation but I listen to a lot of vocal music where this is the critical factor and not super extended bass and supersonic treble.
I defy anyone to say that ATC Actives are no good. They are just different to Meridian.

I have spent a lot of time in front of both and couldn't ever say that ATC's were no good as they are in fact rather damn fine and dare I say it easier to live with for all types of music than perhaps the Meridians which is the bit that irks me as I like to know that the signal has passed from the digital domain to my ear with the absolute minimum of colouring which isn't the case with the ATC's
I like the fact that the Meridians just tell it like it is and that they use the technically superior method to do so.
The comments regarding room setup and treatment is correct and is actually a larger part of the equation than many give time or money to.
At the end of the day you have to choose what sounds best to you.

Yes no doubt you will be easily seduced and the "cost" will become insignificant!

5200SE is the speaker I'd always hoped the 5200SL would be.
The improvements in bass started with the 5200 EBA firmware upgrade but the SE improved more. I have the clamp rings as I elected to trade my 5200s in rather than upgrade them with the kit. Bass is nice and fast / tight, not something you could say about the vanilla 5200s.
I therefore cannot testify to the difference the clamp rings make but given the jump in performance I suspect they are a significant part of the improvements I'm hearing.
Only your own ears can hear the 'real' difference though, so make the journey or do what I did and just jump in blind. No regrets,
The SE electronics and tweeter are genius. Just waiting for enough MQA material for the next big step!

5200SE or SE update to 5200 is biggest change/bang for buck which makes a mediocre speaker (flame suit on- but it is IMHO) to a good/great speaker.
I have personally heard 5200SE and I walked away impressed (from one of custom installs nearby).
I have been reluctant to sell my 5200SL in hopes that I can update to SE in near future once I settle in.
I think Meridian should offer 5200SE sales promo thru dealer network so more folks can check this speaker out and get aware of DSP speakers.
Regards, Kishore

Can I jump on and ask if the 5200.2 is a further upgrade from the 5200SE ?

The 5200.2 is an update on the 5200SL. The SE version is in a different league.

IMHO, .2 upgrade is a waste of time compared to the REAL upgrade level of the SE's.
