There has been some wise counsel offered here which I endorse. Let me offer another perspective. My use for the 861 has been in a multichannel audio-only system but was recently set aside.

I know that it is probably losing value as it sits in the closet but I am hoping for an upgrade that will support multichannel high resolution audio (including DSD) from a server, will incorporate better roomEQ and, of course, MQA. I have no need for anything video.

However, I think Munich in May is a bit too optimistic.
