So basically you compared the SQ differnce between a non-bitperfect Explorer1 vs non-bitperfect Explorer2.
Any MQA was destroyed by the Windows internal volume mixer.
DSP8000SE, DSP7200SEHC, DSP5200SE sides, DSP7200SE rears, 861v8, 210, Sim2 Ultranero 4, Stewart Cinecurve 2.35:1, XEIT CM-5E Anamorphic lens, Dune HD Duo Cinema 8K and Wireworld Platinum 48G HDMI -> UHD722 -> Shunyata Omega Ethernet. Shunyata/Furutech power-cables/filters. SR Master Fuse@861v8. Uptone Etherregen with 10MHz OCXO clock.

Crion,
I think you are possibly misunderstanding why we did this.
Having updated the Explorer 2 we were somewhat perplexed at the lack of MQA revelation - rather disappointed actually.
We used the Explorer 1 merely as a comparison and yes there was a slight SQ difference, but as you know there is a small SQ difference between these two devices anyway, so it was rather inconclusive.
We have now learned of the apparent non bit perfect rendition coming from the VLC player. This is basically positive news because when we finally get a bit perfect signal we will presumably be able hear the MQA magic through the Explorer 2.
Thanks Regards Huw
