Another analogue alternative should be the mighty B&W ASW850. I can't reccomend them highly enough. My neighbour isnt so keen.

Would anyone happen to have any specs for the new Meridian subs?
I would be very interested to upgrade if the new ones go lower than the present ones.
I currently have the D2500 together with 5 x DSP33. I find the D2500 easy to setup, well integrated to the DSP33 and good enough for music, although it feels a bit too relaxed. Maybe 'slow' would be a good word to describe it, too. And for movies, it does not go low enough, I'm afraid.
EDIT: One more addition to describe the D2500. I think the sound it produces is very clear and precise. Compared to the other subs I've listened, most of them might have more power in the extremes, explosions, really deep bass in the music etc., but I think especially with the DSP33s, a D2500 is a very good choice for very natural sound all around. For bigger loudspeakers the D2500 probably does not have enough extra to give.

Crion,
What Amphion speakers were you listening to with the DD12?
I own Amphion Krypton speakers and a REL Stentor III but have recently played with a Velodyne DD12 sub at home. The RC was interesting but in my room (24' X 11' X 8')the bass response on-screen display indicates that I have bass response down to below 20 Hz with the Kryptons only with a peak around 25 Hz. The rest of the plot is pretty linear with dips at 32 Hz, and 80Hz. I find that my REL integrates very well (high level connection from power amp) and I cross over at 27 Hz (Kryptons have a published -3db spec at 22Hz!) I don't have the gain set particularly high and use the sub to augment the in-room bass response.

Another make to consider is Martin Logan. Their two new subs, 'Depth' and 'Descent' have both picked up several awards this year, and have been described as even better than Velodyne.
No prizes for guessing what I'll be auditioning later this year!
Cheers,
David

I used to have an M&K MX-350. Changed it for a Thiel SS2. The improvement in all areas was HUGE. Amazing with music and movies. Listen if you can.
