1. No, I have an analogue system. The 8kSE shouldn't need any update.
2. Sooloos in my case, Roon also works fine via ID41 or USB
3. Probably upsamples the undecoded MQA to 24/88 (that's what the input on my independent DAC states). I have MHR turned off.
4. I assume downsamples MQA 24/352 to 24/176 as the 818 v3 DAC is rated at that level. (but maybe not, I can't believe that the DAC in the 818v3 is any worse than the DACs in SE speakers and they go much higher)
