I am assuming that this list can also be interpreted as a list of products that won't or can't be upgraded to support MQA.

Will there be a trade in for existing owners to their MQA replacements if indeed they are going to be replaced and not just retired?

Cheers,

Tony.

I'm not sure MQA is entirely to blame. I wasn't aware that the HD621 was in the frame as a potential MQA candidate.

Any trade in deal is going to be heavily impacted by these reductions in RRP though.

I do hope any folks who purchased new kit in the last week will be protected in some form from these price drops. It would leave a very nasty taste in the mouth otherwise.

MQA may be partly to blame but my guess is the more likely reason is that these items are slow sellers and about to be discontinued in the interests of simplifying the product range and cash flow.

Call me old fashioned, but I'm going to give an unqualified warm welcome to this announcement!

I think this pricing is far more realistic than the previous levels, which IMO were uncompetitive in the market.

Well done M, very welcome news, and thanks Rick for sharing.

Cheers

George

I saw the US version of this list last week. It also included mention of the NEW DSP 8000.2 for $60,000(with a note-technical details to follow). This is probably worth it's own thread so I will start one.

Couldn't help but notice that the MS200 isn't on this list...

I never thought the MS200 was as overpriced as the other units.

Much as I love my AC200 without asynchronous USB it was always too expensive at the higher RRP.

Doesn't mean it won't be discontinued of course.

I agree the MS200 is reasonably priced as it is. I wonder if we should read more into its absence though. Is there still a chance the MS200 will support MQA in some way maybe? Does it mean there isn't an "MS300" coming? That sort of speculation.

Although never officially noted, the MS200 has been available at a discount for some time now. So perhaps there is less of a backlog to clear? I think it has been more or less confirmed that the MS200 will be replaced.
