The biggest issue I see with this, is that the vast majority of recordings have been made and continue to be made at 44.1, so there is nothing more to unpack to standard PCM. If there was a huge catalogue of 192 out there I could see the benefit but MQA is really going to prosper on the analog to analog process of that huge library of 44.1.
But MQA would encode from the original masters and at the very least have the benefit of alleged superior encoding bringing better than CD sound (allegedly) to CD (undecoded) spec.
