I suspect no announcements means there is nothing to say at Meridian.
They promised, or hinted at, various upgrades and I suspect that for various reasons these are either not ready or not happening at all and so there is nothing to announce.
I'm disappointed that Meridian are not (yet) delivering products which can take full advantage of MQA software. I'm hopeful this will change soon and the updates for all the Sooloos hardware will be announced.

I don't know Matt, it's cheap enough to try and buy. I think I will tomorrow just to play it. The stream sounds nice on my iPad and phones anyway. There are two options to buy here, Premium (Whatever that is?) and MQA

So does this mean that the 818v3 is the best you can get post MQA decoding for a digital output? Are they applying the MHR rule to everything?
The digital output on the Aries is 192kHZ, a step up from the 818v3 96kHz.
Primary: MD600, MS200 (SpeakerLink to AES), Trinnov ST-2, Ayre V6-xe, Salk SS8 3x LRC. Secondary: MC600 (whole house). Zone one: 568.2, G57, MS200, Spatial Hologram M2SE. Zone 2-6 (Awaiting assignment).

The delays I strongly suspect are now as a result of MQA being a seperate entity from Meridian, with agreements in place that Meridian not be given preferential treatment.
Frustratingly this delays things for us but gives MQA the best chance of gaining serious traction and succeeding in the long term.
Can't wait until I get my firmware updates mind!

The digital output on the Aries is 192kHz, a step up from the 818v3 96kHz. If I put 192kHz into the 818v3 (which is quite easy), the speakers show 192kHz. I asked someone in R&D how this was possible, and was told "we send it over MHR". I suspect it's doing something quite clever and possibly even MQA-like to do this. And of course, this is a closed system. (Which is fine by me!)

The files are reported to be 'Better than CD' so just play them and asses that claim. Are they any better than what apodising brings to the table? Thoughts, Chris 😎
