pages 24 and 25 (of the PDF, labeled page 20/21) refers to typing. Power off at the back, power on holding down the "off" key on the front and choose your type, then cycle the main power switch again. Types set up a basic framework of inputs in use, comms mode (500 series or 200/600 compatible) etc.
