No, the Prime is also MQA Ready (though needs an enabling firmware update, as does the Explorer 2, I believe).
Edit: Actually, come to think of it, most of these items will need a software or firmware update...

This could be good news, although it could be a short term thing whilst the MQA library builds up. (Who would paid double the subscription for a few albums?)
Cheers Tom

This could be good news, although it could be a short term thing whilst the MQA library builds up. Who's to say that the studios haven't been MQA'ing their back catalogues for the past 12 months...? On a related note, I found an article over on head-fi.org talking about Ultimate Ears' replacement for its Capitol Studios collaborated Reference Monitors (the new ones are also in collaboration with Capitol Studios and called the UE Pro Reference Remastered). Does the following remind you of anything? Barak clearly wants to bring the sound of the original masters to the consumer, and feels now is the time. "We actually have the opportunity to introduce the listener to what the artist truly intended, in the exact same format... The decisions the artists are making, the decision the producers and engineers are making, can actually be listened to by the consumer for the very first time."

Who is to say? It's been a very low key development if that is the case. I found this article that at least went as far as providing information on a commitment to release film on a new format (DVD to Blu-Ray back in 2006) although the figures aren't great, at least somebody did say something! Arbitrary story that contrives to support GMT’s throwaway comment about lack of MQA materialIt does sound like there is a build up to MQA but it doesn't appear to be huge at the moment.

Do we have any sense whether MQA launch is early or late 2016?

Reasonably latest media view on TIDAL Will TIDAL be the next music streaming service to drown?Still woefully short on paying subscribers vs Spotify (30M and counting). What happens re: Sooloos/Meridian if they do do sink?

I think Tidal needs better music discovery features to compete with Spotify to attract "normal" users. More Top Lists, more recommendations and adding their own user tailored Discovery list. But keeping the curated material of course.
Main: Marantz Cinema 50, Meridian 271, DSP7200.2, DSP5200HC, DSP5000 rears, Meridian 210. PC/Headphones: Mytek Liberty II, Sansui CA-F1, Sansui B-2301, Sennheiser HD800, Kef R3

It already seems to have a Kanye filter. Sadly this doesn't seem to work in reverse.
Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.
Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

The ability to filter out genres would be nice, such that I could be presented with everything except hip-hop/rap.
Main System: Trinnov Altitude 32-8-16, 271, 2 x 8KXE, 1 x 8KPP, 6 x M6 Surrounds, Rel No.25, Oppo 203, Zappiti Pro 4K HDR, Roon, WiiM Mini.
