Has anyone fitted a linear power supply in an HD621? I'd be interested partly because of potential performance improvements for the HD621, but mostly so the HD621's switcher couldn't pee in the shared mains drinking water.

If the HD621 casework is impractically low-profile for an internal mount, could one run a wire with appropriate modular connectors on the end from an outboard Teddy Pardo or the like into the back panel of an HD621, perhaps where the IEC jack had been gently removed? I confess that I don't know the voltage and current requirements of the HD621, nor do I know the implications of having power supply regulation that much farther away from what it's feeding.

Apologies if this has been covered thoroughly elsewhere. I've tried to search, but may not have asked for the right terms.
