When Oppo does release a 4K player next year I will need something like this KD-HDFIX22 box.

I would actually need 2 of them for both my 4k sources. .

If M do release a new HD621 in 2016 then that may be a cheaper option to upgrade. For me at least.

Theatre Room: Sony 4K VW500ES, 861v8+ID41, HD621, DSP6000's, DSP5000C, DSP5000's, Oppo 205, Sat STB, XBox One X, Stewart Cinemascope Screen, QNAP TVS 1271U-RP (96TB) with Sooloos/Roon core pkg.

Even with a new HD621 I'd still need the HDFIX22 as both my displays are non-2.2. I will upgrade both once we know where we really are going with UHD/HDR etc

Would be nice to get a 2.2 HD621 from Meridian that fully supports UHD/HDR. Knowing Meridian, it's going to be a bit of a wait... but worth it, of course!

I cannot get my HD621 to passthrough 4K or 3D to my VW1000. Could this be firmware related ? Mine is still the original installed from a few years back.

Would somebody be kind enough to send the latest version to me please?

Hi,

Firmware should be available from your local dealer or failing that I suggest you contact one of the HH friendly dealers that post on here.

I'll PM you their contact details, I'm sure someone will be able to help you.

Regards,
Carl

Hi Mark H - where did you buy the KD-HDFIX22 from please?
How are you getting on with it and the HD621 - any problems or anything to report?

Thanks

The KD-HDFIX22 HDCP 2.2 Fixer is working without issues, but you might also consider the HD Fury Integral which seems more fully functional and upgradable. And cheaper!

I have an HD Fury incoming, but haven't tested yet.

Thanks the HD Fury does look better as its 2 inputs would perfectly suit me and its cheaper.

Please update us to how you get on with it.

With Amazon 4K how is the video performance - it's not 24fps out of the box by all accounts so how does content look on it?

Thanks again

I get 2160p24 from the AmazonHD box... I have the EDID set on the black box to only allow up to 2160p30, which is all my projector (and the HD621?) can handle, so it seems the Amazon box is open to persuasion?

UHD film looks spectacular, and certainly when I drop back to blu-ray I feel like I'm looking at a low resolution source smile Which is impressive, given that we are talking about streamed UHD. Am very much looking forward to high bitrate UHD Blu-Ray next year.

The main negative with the Amazon box right now is that it seems restricted to stereo sound. There are complaints on the Amazon forums about it. Amazon have promised an update, but it doesn't seem to have come through yet. Bought I only intend to use it until UHD Blu-Ray arrives, and as a proof of concept for UHD it works very well.

Thats great feedback - so prologic sound not best but pretty good on the 861 still.

I am confused what you mean by EDID on the black box comment can you explain that one to me please

Thanks again for this useful info

You can set the HDFIX22 to passback a preset EDID (which describes the resolutions/refresh rates/audio codecs the display supports) to the source device in order to control what it thinks it is talking to, so for instance, in my case I limit resolutions to a maximum 2160p30.
