Thanks Big T, starting again today with rebooting of my equipment. I had enough yesterday and was rather frustrated with the whole thing. I'll see how I get on today and will post the results. I do appreciate any help that I receive.

Switching back and forth a number of times, it is plain that when you switch on Sooloos core, it will grab any "un-engaged" end points. From M's point of view, to do otherwise could lead to Sooloos connection problems?.

That is how it has worked for a while for me. Any zones not enabled in Roon default to Sooloos. Any zone enabled in Roon is unavailable to Sooloos. User choice.

You're lucky. It has never worked for me like that, and still doesn't.

Now that my MD600 is switched on, my 861 and my MS200 cannot be enabled in Roon, whatever I try.

Oh dear!

What chance for mere mortals.

Sooloos only here and the inherent problems with malfunctioning of MD600 and lack of diagnostics for discs.

Will probably only buy from Ronseal in the future, I think they do black! tired

Not using Roon, just Sooloos. I updated yesterday with, I thought, no problem. Everything worked fine.

I then checked the debug screen which I rarely do and saw the MC200 and Control:PC updated to 2.477 but the ID41 and MS200 were on version 1.0. So they've never updated.

I rebooted the 818 and MC200 but nothing changed. With firmware updates the endpoints should update as well, right?

Any ideas?
Ken

Check your MS200 version again:

Mine is listed as version 1.0 build 164

It's the build number that changes on the MS200.

>>> MS200/MS600/ID40/ID41 Audio Endpoints build 164 – minor fixes to TCP/IP stack.

Version 1.0 is not what you are looking for. I am not in front of a system to confirm but v163 was the last one. It is something like that you see to see. Use a browser on the IP address of each zone to confirm.

My ID41 reports:

Software version: 1.1, build 164
Hardware version: 2.1

I'm not sure what it was before the 2.477 build 406 update though.

OK, both my MS200 and ID41 are showing software 1.0 and build 164. The MC200 shows software 2.477 and build 1511. ControlPC is 2.477 and 412. So I'm good?

Now I'm confused. I see different versions and labels for things in different places.

ID41's web interface:

Software version: 1.1, build 164
Co-processor version: n/a
Hardware version: 2.1

Core's debug page:

Model | System Version | Device Version
ID41 | 1.0 | 164

ID41's command line interface (via telnet)

Hardware: Version 2.1
Main code: Version 1.1.164

MS200's web interface
Software version: 1.0, build 164
Co-processor version: 1.3.7
Hardware version: 2.1

Core's debug page
Model | System Version | Device Version
MS200 | 1.0 | 164

MS200's command line interface
Hardware: Version 2.1
Main code: Version 1.0.164
Co-processor: Version 1.3.7

It is confusing. I'm guessing that the 1.0 refers to hardware version.
