Richard,

Yes, I also had Control:PC on the machine - I had not updated it prior to loading Touch:PC. I have just updated Control:PC and it seems to load OK as does Touch:PC.

Not much help I am afraid….

John

I have it running on an HP windows 10 laptop. Set up went smooth with no issues. Control:PC is also running on this laptop.

Up and running quite nicely on my HP PC. Although the software emulates the C10/C15, it is still missing an On and Off for your system. If Roon can do it then why not M? confused

That single missing feature aside, thank you Meridian as I may now no longer miss the functionality of the C15.

You need to make sure that your screen resolution is actually really really set to 1920x1080 (not just what Windows shows you).

If you are using scaling 'Change the size of all items / Make text and other items larger or smaller', then screen resolution will say '1920x1080' but TouchPC will refuse to run since Windows lies to the application about the screen resolution.

You need to set the scaling slider to 'smaller' so Windows gives the real resolution to the application. This is commonly set away from the 'smaller' setting by manufacturers shipping small screen laptops/tablets.

TouchPC seems to co-exist fine with Control:PC

Request to Meridian:

Earlier versions of TouchPC could be installed on veryHD screens by setting the resolution to 1920x1080 on installation, then setting the screen back to native, it could still be run (either by scaling - fullscreen or being switched into Windowed mode and run at 1920x1080 in a Window within the native resolution)

This seems to have been changed so it insists on the 1920x1080 to start not just install.

Any chance we can have windowed mode back for use on greater than HD screens? (since we still need to use a combination of TouchPC and ControlPC to perform edits and maintenance - i.e. review editing - being able to make use of high-res displays was quite useful)

Well done MattF. I went into the Windows 10 display settings and saw it at 125%. Setting it to 100% is what was needed.

Edit ....... Richard in Chicago - I suspect this is your problem

Thanks

Having now got it loaded, on a Lenovo Flex 2 15 running Windows 10, TouchPC keeps imagining that there is an incompatible disc trying to load, so it opens the disc tray and puts an error message on screen.

Anybody had that one?

As a stop-gap measure, you could disable the drive in DVD/CD-ROM drives in Device Manager (assuming you don't want to use TouchPC to rip discs)

I am finding that TouchPC device manager is very variable in finding devices as is the Meridian Sooloos Configure program.

I am not suggesting that there is anything wrong with TouchPC, rather that the visibility of Meridian devices on my network is highly variable across the board.

Devices seem to come and go as far as being visible by the Meridian applications - I have to startup and close down Meridian Sooloos Configure and /or reboot my machine on occasions before being able to reach a device.

I believe others have commented on there being a cyclic nature to some of the broadcasts but I cannot recall the details. Is there anything I can do to make the discovery of devices more deterministic? (Whole network is fully wired, except the PC laptop used to run Meridian Sooloos Configure / TouchPC.)

John

Hi,

You could try hard-wiring your laptop, I suspect that this will make the problems go away.
If it does, then this suggests that your WiFi router is filtering broadcast packages.

There may be some control of this in the routers settings.
What router are you using?

Regards,
Carl

Carl,

I will try the laptop hard wired.

WiFi is a mixture of Airport Extremes and Airport Expresses, main access via Airport Extremes and all set to bridging mode. All go to a Netgear Smart switch before a single connection to a HH3 (later Chinese version). HH3 has WiFi set off and just acts as a wired router / ADSL modem plus DHCP server

The HH3 is always the weakest link and does get jammed on occasions - that reminds me, I have not power cycled it recently. That could be the cause…

Does this have any kind of track level metadata, or any improvements in that regard? I've been holding off Roon to see if Meridian finally deliver on this and a few other promises, so it'd be nice to know if this solves them.
