Considerations :

Yes, flash the new firmware and type it as a master first to test all functions.
If you have crazy failure, retyping or reload the firmware can/could help.

2. Maybe, the Flash Upload is not complete or done correctly. [ I do notice that the display on the Master speaker does not give all the information I previously had, so suspect?]
Yes, you should reload as strongly suggested just to exclude that this could be the failure.
Are you also checked the colored cable in the left upper corner on your pictures, be careful and look under the flexible shrink tubes (where the cable are soldered to the PCB)?
That cable runs to the power amps, maybe the amps get no signal as the cable is interrupted?
Are the label on both boards are the same on the IC, special that long one on the right front corner? It is a EPROM it think?
