You've had good luck. I did, too, until a few months ago when my hard drive failed. Then, a portable thumb drive with important current data also went bad. I now have a nice new computer but it's missing some files I'll never be able to recreate. Now with a little discipline and a simple "my passport" drive, I'll have backups for the stuff I care about. The drive cost was minimal but the discipline is the hard part.
