The attraction for me is in having a music and video server in one box (Mac Mini Server), with a Meridian end point for the music.

That Meridian entry ticket is going to cost me £500 (MS200) rather than £2,000 (MC200).

Unlike the MC200, I can expand my HDD capacity for relatively little outlay.

If you've already heavily invested in Sooloos I can understand why Roon isn't as attractive.
