There was an article in the Sunday Times "Culture" magazine yesterday about streaming services and mentioning Tidal by name. While getting mainstream exposure like this is probably what Tidal were originally looking for, the gist of the article was that streaming services will essentially cheat artists out of their income stream.

Now, I have never been adverse to paying for CD/DVDs to reward artists for their endeavours. My main issue is paying fees to PPL and PRS to play music that I have already paid the artist for via my purchase of their discs. I imagine that these two parasitical organisations will want a fee if you subscribe to Tidal and then play the output to your employees in the privacy of your factory.
