Oh dear!!
Just had a Power cut.
Everything has recovered except Tidal.
I can search Tidal on C15 by Artist, then by Album but facility to play has gone.
Rebooted C15 to no avail.
Spotify works fine!

Hi Neil
Shortest 90 days ever. I know time goes faster as you get older but....

I am now 60 days younger.
Many thanks to Saint Des and Russ for the support.
If any others experience a power outage you may need to log in again to TIDAL, to resume normal service, using your password (not the original Code supplied by Meridian).
Coincidences happen, today was 30 days from Tidal registration a "red herring"
Thanks Again Hector

Well the mainstream media is picking up that something is wrong with Tidal... WSJ.COM "Low Tidal: What Went Wrong With the Launch of Jay Zs Streaming Music Service" Less than a month after Jay Z and an alliance of musics biggest stars launched Tidal at a grandiose press conference, the streaming music service is neck-deep in bad buzz. The past week has brought a widely cited report of the apps withering popularity and verbal shots fired by fellow musicians.....

Not a word about higher sound quality. I guess there are only a few oddballs who care about that and many of them are Meridian customers. I don't care at all about these special events they are pushing. Seems like a gimmick.

One wonders how many manufacturers would have signed on, if they knew this is how it would work out. There has been some suggestion that little commitment was made to manufacturers.

There are a lot of Tidal tweets and retweets on twitter today challenging the smear campaign that seems to be going on. Worth a look if you tweet. Chris
No 18 in the Hall of fame I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best: GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone

I wonder if there would have been this type of fuss if the Tidal had remained under the original ownership

There was an article in the Sunday Times "Culture" magazine yesterday about streaming services and mentioning Tidal by name. While getting mainstream exposure like this is probably what Tidal were originally looking for, the gist of the article was that streaming services will essentially cheat artists out of their income stream.
Now, I have never been adverse to paying for CD/DVDs to reward artists for their endeavours. My main issue is paying fees to PPL and PRS to play music that I have already paid the artist for via my purchase of their discs. I imagine that these two parasitical organisations will want a fee if you subscribe to Tidal and then play the output to your employees in the privacy of your factory.

Well, I have to say that many artists get little to nothing from a CD sale, whereas at least they do get most of the money from PRS (less their manager's 15-20 per cent if applicable). I speak from experience, so don't begrudge the PRS too much Royalties from sales are fine if you ever sell enough to pay back the Record Company's advance to the Artist. I'm sure that the massive-selling artists might get non-returnable cash sums, but for the commoners your advance is simply recouped from the Royalties from sales.
