That would be Meridian.

I think it would really help people if Sooloos warned user that that service was down prior to the start of ripping / importing ... may be a traffic light:
 Red (down)
 Amber (busy, heavy usage)
 Green (good)

This would also help differentiate between the service being "down" and "no data" found for this album.

Regards,
Carl

Chris, when the system is up it will return "album not found" quickly if the album isn't in the database.
When the database is down then the system hangs for a while before defaulting to a "not found" state.

I was importing some albums last night and the data went down at around 6.35pm (UK time).

I exchanged a few comms earlier in the week with M support about this. They are definitely aware. I agree with Ian that we really need some kind of status indicator. Even if this is somewhere on the M support site.

It's not ideal but all I can think to manage this is tag albums to re-edit when database is back up.

Rgds,
Nick

Can we expect an improvement when Roon is available?

I think that we are learning the Meridian database service is not monitored and maintained 24/7.

And presumably, given it is a long weekend in the UK, will not be back up until Tuesday... frown

I understand that it can be a bit of a circus at Meridian HQ so this Easter weekend it should be fully manned wink except during Thunderbirds of course...

Meridian and Roon run entirely separate metadata servers.

Ian,

I think you've hit upon the answer.

Has anyone ever seen Jeff Tracy:

or Bob Stuart:

in the same room...?
