I take your point but, without the Music there is no need for the infrastructure. So we are paying for the music, as I see it.
The investment that has been made is purely for the delivery of the content to a wide audience in good quality and they, rightfuly expect a good return on this.
Equally, the artists need to be paid properly, for without them and the music we have nothing.
I too would like to know more about how they are paid.
