If so have I been misled as I was under the impression that 192/24 was inferior to 96/24 and that as such when the temporal information of MQA was included in the codec that 96/24 would still be the superior format.
I cannot imagine why anyone would say that 192/24 is inferior to 96/24 (all other variables equal). The issue has always been whether the quite significant additional cost of implementing it provided any audible or functional advantage.
MQA is certainly something that creates inequality in the set of variables.

I must apologize for the mentioning of the DRM patent in my explanation of MQA. As any professional journalist does, I had sent the text to Meridian for comment prior to shooting the video and got no respons. After the video became popular Bob Stuart mailed me personally to guarantee me that MQA does not contain any DRM or other restrictive scheme. It only offers a positive ID when the file is not tampered with. Which BTW makes me very happy.
Very enjoyable viewing and it clarified my understanding of the process, post the MQA demonstration at Bristol, which I was fortunate enough to attend.

Thanks for an excellent explanation and video, Hans. And no need to apologize. Your journalist's instinct to raise questions about the use of DRM/CAM in MQA has served us all very well.
We now have an unequivocal statement from Bob Stuart that this is not the case, so I would say that's a good result.
