Having trouble contacting Sooloos Metadata Service. Could this be related to the update?

I had seen that page, but it appears to be for new product registrations only. I registered my Sooloos gear years ago.

I have contacted M to see if they will send me the TIDAL code directly.

Cheers!

Seems to be coming up in a few threads now. My imports were fine for a week after the update, and then suddenly stopped. I do not think it is the update that is the problem but I could be wrong.

It is intended that you reregister. I think Meridian are using the free trial to entice people to reregister on a new registration system.

Ah ha. OK then, I'll give that a try.
Thanks!

My imports worked immediately after upgrading, but are now hanging at the 'Contacting Sooloos Metadata Service" step and have been for the last couple of days.
I too think this current issue is unlikely to be as a result of the upgrade.

I encountered the meta data problem yesterday when I attempted to add a CD to my system.

Your deleted message said to register there. grin

My gear was registered three years ago; reregistration got me the three month trial, as promised.

This is a new one on me. I searched a playlist on the Tidal App and found RIP Ian Mclagan.
This I then found in Core Control and added to my playlists.
Then I selected Tidal. Playlists and selected a track to play, 'Pool Hall Richard' The Faces.
For a time it started playing and then my Zone dropped out. The zone selection appears when this happens.

I have never had a zone drop out before so assume it is linked to the playlist navigation.

Yesterday I set up a Tidal account and activated it on our Sooloos core. Tried to play some music. Every time, sound for a short stretch, then silence, with the zone selection window popping open - that did not include our ID41 in the list. After a minute, the ID41 reappeared as a zone, but the iPad response in the Tidal branch was glacial, and wouldn't play. Went away for a couple hours, tried again. Again, search, selection and initiating a track was fine. But again, the music stopped as above.

I have been thinking our LAN arrangement might be at fault. Will experiment over the weekend with different wiring.

This is disappointing, and worrisome that it happened to you as well.

Did you import add an Album first. I had this problem playing from a Playlist? Chris smile

I would refer to it as "add to library" rather than "import" just to avoid confusion with the normal process of import where you copy files to store.

Rgds,
Nick
