Feeling a little left out... I got the email promising my free Tidal trial on Monday but still not had the trial code through frown

Maybe 72 Meridian hours is 10 earth days or something wink

I guess I'll just have to be patient.

You may want to check your spam filter, you never know. It's no fun being the only person not invited to the disco. Chris smile

GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone

Well I'll be...

I searched all mailboxes and there it was... sent Monday at 13:08

I didn't do the registration until 17:28.

Meridian really do have this timing business all sown up they can even make time run backwards!

Happy days. smile

I found full instructions for activating via C15/C10 and Control:PC/MAC under the Meridian heading on the Tidal website. They seemed pretty comprehensive, though I had already done it before I read them.

Interesting, Job Seeker!

It would be good if Meridian's style on this was similarly practical, rather than what feels like advertising. I appreciate the work they have put in to the MQA venture and its need for commercial success but...

Anyway the wait is nearly over and we will be able to assess at home the audible impact of MQA. I will be interested to see if their choice of music allows comparison with previously available 44.1 or indeed Hi Res content.

Despite the minor hassles, full credit to both for their collaboration and the free trial, which at 90 days is very generous I think!

Sigh, how extremely practical, with playlists, favorites and all.
Customer focused I think not. Who gives a [censored] about early adopters?

What we advise is for existing TIDAL customers to either freeze their account and set up a new one for 3 months, or give the code to a friend/family member.

Hi Magnus,

To whom is your comment addressed to?

If to Meridian, then don't forget they have just upgraded your Sooloos system for free. Is that not enough for you?

If to Tidal, then I assume you have already taken advantage of the initial trial period. Is that not enough for you?

Sorry but I just don't get your frustration here of "missing out" on a few days of free service that you are already subscribed to and enjoying.

Regards,
Carl

Carl, in all fairness it should mostly be addressed to Tidal even though this is part of a promotion deal between Tidal and Meridian.

They should have thought about this case
Same as when you offer a product for one price with an incentive and then lower the price shortly after. Tends to annoy people.

Maybe $60 is nothing for you but for me it matters.

Also, the only free upgrade I see is the ability to use a service I have to pay for. I'm not sure what the financial deal is between Meridian and Tidal but we could assume Meridian didn't do this for free, i.e. there is money coming back from Tidal. Or they justified it through increased sales.

80% of the posts in this thread are about ones inability or delay to get ones voucher. As far as I can tell, the free voucher isn't the news around Meridian Sooloos 2.2 with TIDAL streaming, yet that seems to be the focus. Personally, I think it is detracting from what is a very positive addition to Sooloos and to M.

Magnus, I'm perplexed.

You got what you originally signed up for, correct?

TIDAL made no representations or guarantees to you about offers they might make to new(er) subscribers, or about others' ability to get a better initial deal, right?

And now, you're complaining not about the service you agreed to pay your $20/month for, and have been getting since then, but about an inducement you're not getting and didn't need to sign up? Your ability to enjoy life went down because others' went up? And, moreover, even though you apparently *can* get that deal, as Meridian has explained to you, you've decided it's too inconvenient for you to pursue?

Seriously, dude?
