Hello all,
We will begin the release of Meridian Sooloos 2.2 software on Monday, 23rd March.
Over the days following the release, users will receive a message on their systems via Control:10/15 or Control:PC/Mac informing them that the new version is available.
This release incorporates the integration of TIDAL streaming and we advise all users to activate the update at a time convenient to them. Once successfully updated, the system will report the new software version on its control interface (Control:10/15 or Control:PC/Mac).
As usual, to ensure a smooth implementation of the new software across the globe, notification will be pushed out to systems in stages across the Sooloos online community. This means that not every system will receive the notification simultaneously on the first day of the release. However, as long as the system is online, it will not miss out on the update.
As part of this upgrade, users will also be invited to take up a complimentary 3 month (90 day) trial to the TIDAL service upon registration of their Meridian Sooloos product(s).
In addition, we are releasing a new version of the Core Control App for iPad users running iOS 8. This fixes an issue specific to iOS 8 so there is no update for earlier versions of iOS. There will also be an update for users of the more basic Sooloos App for iPhone and iPad which addresses issues with cover art aspect ratios on some devices. Both updates will be available from the App Store on the same day as the Sooloos update, Monday 23rd March.

Thanks Des, is the local cache function (offline mode) operational in this release?

A Tidal subscription is currently limited to some countries. For example, from my Australia I cannot start a subscription with Tidal.
I had hoped, even expected, that Sooloos users from all countries would be able to bypass that restriction and now use Tidal streaming.
So does a �complimentary 3 month (90 day) trial to the TIDAL service upon registration of their Meridian Sooloos product(s)� apply now to all countries?
If so will that mean that at the end of the 3 month Tidal trial a Sooloos user can start a subscription with Tidal regardless of their country of residence?
It would be very unfortunate if Tidal in currently excluding some countries from a subscription service meant that those Sooloos users still cannot access Tidal. If that applied then Meridian should try and resolve the problem.

I received a 90 day complimentary Tidal Voucher from M after purchasing Prime HA. Still couldn�t register voucher with Tidal due to non Australian release. Hopefully, this will change after Monday.

How will the upgrade work for those of us who already have a TIDAL subscription?
Presumably there will be a TIDAL option incorporated in the current Settings>Accounts box?

I also have a Tidal subscription. I wouldn't mind getting the three free months! Anyway, I assume it will be just like it was with Rhapsody. You enter your login credentials into Sooloos once and you are good to go.

Once you have a login - there is no restrictions regardless of country.
I have just tried clicking on 'do you have a voucher', and looks like there's no restriction with the sign up, but someone with a voucher code should definitely check that out.

How do we actually get the free 90 day code? If our MC200 is already registered?
For those of us using iOS7 on iPad do we need to update the software?

I'm a bit unclear if that will need a Sooloos update or a Tidal update...

MQA through Tidal is what we all are waiting for but that is not confirmed with this update. This update AFAIK is to integrate Tidal into the Sooloos system in much the same way as Tunein Radio or Rhapsody is. We will need to subscribe (Possibly with a free trial period) to use it. That's as I understand things, Chris
