Just a quick update whilst we wait for TIDAL integration on the 23rd.

It would appear the on/off saga of whether J Zed will purchase TIDAL or not now seems to be resolved in the affirmative. What HiFi News#1. One hopes this can only be good news?

Also on What HiFi their version of the article posted above What HiFi News #2. Note the odd comment at the bottom of the page I think we've all tried a direct comparison of Spotify and or Rhapsody with TIDAL, personally I used my phone (an HTC One M8) for this and found TIDAL to be much much better quality than both the others. Is Happy HiFi a Spotify employee I wonder?

We also had Morten Linberg from 2L, telling us about how he does recording and also demonstrating the Album MAGNIFICAT encoded in MQA in 24 bit at 352.8 kHz sampling rate.

He also demonstrated other 2L High res files streamed by Tidal Hifi encoded in MQA.

Just on my first day of TIDAL trial - maybe I am stupid but I cannot find any radio channels - essential for my other half.

Any ideas please?

PS quality of what I received so far on their Hi fi streaming was pretty good - using Explorer2 into headphones and iPad into main system via G61R.

Huw, AFAIK on Tidal 'radio' channels are only per artist selectable, or as playlist. General internet radio is on via Sooloos available, but I guess you knew that.

Bummer then it means I have to keep Rhapsody, just to receive internet radio, channels. My wife is Dutch Jan, and likes the NL channels

You can use Tunein radio on Sooloos for radio stations. Chris

Huw, have you tried the TuneIn channels? I quickly searched for Dutch radio and there are plenty. This is integrated into Sooloos and is free.

Huw, Napster doesn't have radio either.

Under "Explore", in de Sooloos app, you'll find TuneIn. Here you can find all channels you want including the Dutch ones, including typical Dutch music (the famous Eel sound from Volendam, from The Cats to Nick&Simon (brrrrr...), or all other news, the commercial ones, and Radio 1-6 channels. Anything you like to listen to from across the globe.

Add them to your library by clicking the + sign, to store for an 'easy to find' in the Sort function under Radio Channels at your main screen

You might be using this all along under the impression it is Napster maybe.

Clearly I misguidedly thought all this radio was coming from Rhapsody, not the core Sooloos. That's great news.

When Tidal is fully sorted with Meridian, I probably will drop Rhapsody, though it is very cheap, because I am still using my original US subscription at $9.99/ month.

I have free Tidal until June, really getting into it now it's very good! Qulity definitely superior to Rhapsody.

Listening to it now from a Mac, through Explorer into G61R. My son has Explorer 2, which is even better, at least on headphones, not a massive difference though playing through the system.

So I guess some dealers (maybe all?) now have Tidal on their Sooloos? Good news is that it seems like it's functioning for some, which is great news. Looking forward to getting it onto my setups!
