Hi Greg,

I can recommend the LG OLED. I have recently swapped my Pioneer LX5090 for an LG 55EC930V & am very pleased with it.

It is definately a step up from the Pioneer (especially in black level and overall brigntness).

My only gripes are the curve (I would have preferred flat but it's less pronounced than the Samsung curve) & the motion handling is perhaps not as good as plasma.

If you read about these TV's you will find reports of tinting on full white fields to various degrees. Mine has a very slight red/pink tint on the far left side that is only visible on full white screens & does not show in normal viewing.

I have had a play with the smart functionality (I don't use it as all my video goes via my Lumagen video processor) & it seems pretty good (if a little slow).

I was tempted to wait for the 4K 55in flat model due later this year but with a price drop at a local retailer, and the fact that at my viewing distance i'm not sure of the benefits of 4K, I bought this one.

It would definaely be worth a look if your in the market for a 55in TV (as suggested earlier preferrably in a suitably lit demo environment).

Cheers,

Justin
