Hi Hector,
I have read your comparison (v1 vs. v2) with a lot of interest and also with some degree of astonishment:
To my knowledge the v1 was featuring a source impedance of the headphone outline of 50 ohms, which is quite a lot.
The Grado GS1000i has a load impedance of 32 ohms, right?
According to a rule of thumb the load impedance should be at least eight times as high as the source impedance, otherwise you are running in serious issues like distorted frequency response behaviour of the phones, electrical damping functionality will be reduced and source power will also be reduced.
Insofar it appears kind of strange to me that a constellation (pairing) in which the load impedance is smaller than the source impedance should make sense?
Best regards, Sascha
