Hi all,

Just to confirm we will be hosting our yearly event at our Bristol store. Now in it's fifth year it will certainly be the most exciting one yet.

I can't confirm many details but I can confirm that MQA will certainly be available for demonstration.

The opening hours will be 10am-6pm Friday and Saturday and 11am until 3pm on the Sunday.

I've been to events when a name goes to into a hat before... I should have found more out before going.

That's my Friday fun for this week.

I'm still waiting on confirmation of a few things however currently it looks like this:

We will have set up in the Cinema Room the following:

861v8 with DSP7200SE, DSP7200HCSE and DSP5200SE surrounds.
This room will have MQA as well as Blu-Ray/Sooloos.

The front lounge room will have DSP8000SE with 818v3 showing MQA also.

I felt the 8K's sounded fantastic in this room two years ago.

A little undecided about the other areas but will confirm soon.

We will be having a prize draw for an Explorer2 so anybody that comes will be in with a chance of wining this stunning product.

Meridian attendees will be confirmed next week.

I would like to hear the Prime set up with some HD800s or the new Audeze. It would also be interesting to get a turntable feeding the 818.3 to hear how transparent it is to analog in. I think some people would appreciate some form of MQA into analog speakers so we don't have to judge it alongside the DSPs.

We have secured the esteemed Director of Engineering Richard Hollingshead on the Saturday.

He will be giving a presentation/talk on MQA. I will be able to confirm the timings in the coming weeks.

How will you play MQA with an 861v8?

At Meridian West London the controller was a modified (MQA cards added) 818v1.

That's true Russ but that was an 818, from what we can gleam from posting on here the 861 is on a longer lead time.

Don't get me wrong, it would be great if a prototype 861 with MQA was there but I'd have though Meridian would be saying more about as it would be its first public outing.

It could just be there will also be an 818 in that room to hook-up to the main front pair.

It would be good for Richard (or someone from M) to clarify.
