I don't know what the price is going to be. I made a great deal and if it cost more then the v2 then I must throw in some more money.

I don't think that it would be more expensive because they have removed one input card from the unit.

Can you add more input cards to the 818.3? Some Meridian users used those inputs on the 818.2.

I really don't know if there is an option for adding cards. In my setup I don't need them but more inputs are always better for the future.

Pure speculation on my part but Oxford Meridian are offering their demo 818v2 for sale on the Partners forum. Maybe they a expecting a 818v3 anytime soon as it would not appear to make sense to order a new 818v2 right now.

Every 800 product can be configured to your liking... So also a 818v3.

The 818v1/v2 was not physically configurable. Nor were some versions of the 800.

I hope though that either the 818v3 data sheet is wrong on the loss of inputs, or there will be an extra input card offered in this case.

I've received an update from Meridian HQ on this. The long and short of it is that the 818v3 data sheet from CES is correct. Namely:

- The number of digital inputs reduces from 12 to 6 (although this may not affect many people!)
- The analogue inputs remain unbalanced.

Dealers are already accepting pre-orders for the 818v2-818v3 upgrade, so it's worth a phone call to get on the list.

So there is no option to custom order additional cards for more inputs of one sorts?

Also there is the question regarding running a headphone amp in an analog speaker system on the 818.3?
