I met Paul five years ago at Meridian HQ. He gave me a very enthusiastic tour around the factory before letting me listen to DSP speakers. He went out of his way to make me feel at home. The visit was most enjoyable because of Pauls heart-warming hospitality, something which Ill never forget.
My deepest condolences to Pauls family, friends and colleagues.
I got a phone call when it happened and have been totally devastated by the suddenness of Paul's passing. He has been in my home I think 5 times delivering speakers & kit for demo & purchase. He liked to hear me play my Johnny Cash collection & said it rekindled a desire to hear more as his dad used to play Cash. Only a month ago he reminded me of his coming up for an evening of Cash. So touched by his warmth, friendliness and dedication to keeping the customer happy, he befriended myself and my wife whom he would hug on arrival and departure.
Following an invite I have told Chris Cope his close colleague at M that I will be attending his funeral. I simply feel the need to support his poor wife and children at such a dreadful time.
Truly a great loss to all that knew and respected this gentle kind man
Paul was instrumental in rebuilding the relationship between Meridian and this community; more so than most folk realize. He was a lovely guy to chat to, and we exchanged a lot of humorous banter via email. I won't say that we were good friends, but that was the direction things were going.
I will remember, in particular, his genuine interest in my opinions and advice regarding all things Meridian and the Forum.
I was lucky to have had dinner with him and a few of his colleagues only a few days before he died, and the news hit me hard.
A great and very untimely loss; my heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family, colleagues and friends.

I must have seen Paul shortly after your Johnny Cash session. Maybe it was Feb @ Bristol or SE launch @ MWL. I can't recall. But just to share with you that Paul was telling us about the Cash session you had. It did please him a lot and, as ever, he was happy to share that.
Many thanks for that Nick. I did take some Cash to the Bristol demos & he used two of the tracks I played "The first time Ever I saw Your Face" & "The Man Comes around" both from American 4 as the main demos to people the rest of the weekend & said it had jumped into his all-time top 20!
