Hello Ian,

Thanks for your help.
I configured vMSR with the IP2SL plugged into unmanaged switch and that works ok.
With the fixed IP and Room settings stored in vMSR, I then plugged IP2SL back into the managed switch and it is still working.

Best Regards,

Martin

Glad it's working.

If you can face it, it maybe worth checking how to enable IGMP snooping on the managed switch to avoid future problems. I think I read it's disabled by default hence yur issue.

You need to configure it so that multicast works without a multicast router on the network, i.e. the switch works out what ports are involved in a multicast group by itself instead of waiting to be told by a multicast enabled router that is not present on the network.

Or tell all ports to open for multicast, i.e. treat multicast as broadcast, as is how most unmanaged switches operate which is why it works out of the box for the unmanaged switch.

Very good work!!!!. A BIG THANK YOU to all involved in releasing the new vMSR version. It solved all the problems of the original vMSR. Now we can control our 2nd Meridian processor as well (it's time for a 2nd IP2SL). It will be nice to create an AMX module as well...

Regards
George

I don't doubt it's a grand improvement, but a page or two of instructions would be nice. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to customize the buttons without turning off the 861 and exiting the app.

I'm not the most technical person and easily frustrated with this stuff...

Morning, so it's looking like the vMSR v1 supported the 568.2mm but on the v2 version not all of the new features are accessible is there some sort of limitation on the 568.

Which new features are not working when connected to a 568.2?

Hi All,

Instructions for the new features will follow soon.

We have had some feedback that room naming isn't working, depending on what version of iOS you are running. We should have an update to sort the issue next week.

To name a source:

Connect vMSR to your Meridian system as normal, get it up and running so you have a working connection.

Press and hold the source button for a couple of seconds and a text box should pop-up.

Put in your 5 letter name for the source and press 'done' on the keyboard.

The source names are stored with that room (IP address), so you can have different source labels in different rooms if you like.
