Up and running. All good so far - currently listening to Leonard Cohen's excellent "Songs from the Road". Qobuz subscription cancelled.

Tidal will be rolled out in more countries soon wink

If downloaded it will not overwrite your music files if you have the same album - some might wonder.

Tidal works perfectly on my iPhone 6 Plus streaming by bluetooth in my car.

Song and titles are show in my Navigation / screen unit.
Just now I`m air playing in my Apple TV from my iPhone.

Happy listening

I was streaming last night and did a very unofficial comparison between Tidal and Rhapsody. Using custom ear buds out of the Nexus 5, I couldn't discern much if any difference. I set the streaming to similar audio quality. In doing so, was surprised to see the Rhapsody has upped the game on this, at least for streaming. I would also add that the Tidal system seemed to have a couple track issues.

I think that Tidal is interesting, but they are going to have to step up the game to get larger adoption. I think it is too early to tell and believe that downloading FLAC files to Sooloos will likely be the selling point, NOT its streaming ability, which thus far, seems pretty standard.

Yes I've got the same problem. I managed to login but when I try to use it I get a message saying please setup your subscription, but it won't let me use a credit card, so I'm a bit stuck.

I have submitted support requests but am currently 420 & 422 in the queue so not holding breath!

I find it modestly amusing that folks who have spent +$50k or more on hifi equipment are balking at paying $30/month for a virtually limitless catalog of music to play on it.

smh.

You don't get rich by wasting $30 a month...(I'm told)

Happy to receive $10 per month as a subsidy to achieve something near parity with you privileged US guys. Your modesty is not amusing here. No offence intended

I own almost all of the music I know I like, the CDs I buy are random punts at stuff I think I might like, at a guess about 10 to 20 per month. The idea of throwing 20 ($32.01) at stuff I don't know I if I like and have no spare time to explore is not my idea of a good investment. Feel free to throw your money away and let me know if there's anything truly unmissable in the things you have so much time to spend exploring.

If the cost to me was $20 per month (12.50) I might be more interested in doing that than buying CDs (despite the lack of tangible media come the revolution...).

In the meantime I can politely suggest that somebody who pays $20 per month refrains from preaching to those expected to (unjustifiably) pay 20 for exactly the same service. Irrespective of their investment in reproductive equipment.

I thank you.

One man's waste is another man's pleasure... Yes, of course the :$ disparity smacks of "rip-off Britain", even when 20% UK VAT is taken into consideration; I have let Tidal know this and, to their credit, they responded.

However, I feel compelled to argue that $20/month is actually too cheap for what the offering is. These streaming services need to be profitable for any decent royalties to go back to the artists. (Second-hand CDs = no royalties.). Small labels - particularly classical labels - are already withdrawing their content from the likes of Spotify, because the streaming providers cannot provide them with adequate royalties. Let's get real for a bit here: Spotify LOSES money for every new subscriber to its free service; this is not sustainable.

I have no wish to preach. I'll only state that I've discovered so much music recently from streaming services and, given that I have equipment that will allow me to discern the differences between lossy and lossless, FOR ME, I think that 20/month is worth it. Yes, it is a very different music distribution model - not owning a physical copy of the media and being, I suppose, forever reliant on a subscription - but I confess that I don't have the storage space for the CD equivalent of 25 million tracks.

Anyway, please let's not use this thread to criticise or belittle those that see Tidal as something worthwhile.

From my perspective, once Tidal is integrated into Sooloos (which I assume is round the corner), it's going to be wonderful.

Completely agree with this - for what they are offering, the cost is buttons.
